Hey I’m Reece
I joined Ashford FitClub in order to gain a bit of muscle and lose a bit of belly fat after Christmas. I’d never done anything similar before and I didn’t have much knowledge on fitness at all.
As a Fitclubber, I was incredibly shy and would be the first to leave at the end of the session. The majority of the others would hang around and chat with the coaches but I couldn’t bring myself to participate, so I would turn up, work out, and leave. This went on for a few months, and despite my shyness, I continued to go, without ever missing a session. A little while later, I decided that I was fed up of being shy, so I made it my goal to reach out and speak to the coaches, about anything I could think of. It turned out that they weren’t big, scary people, instead they were lovely guys that have now become incredible friends of mine.
Soon after this, it was explained to me, that my new found confidence hadn’t gone unnoticed and that I had inadvertently been creeping to the front of every class and that now I was practically taking the session myself! It was at this point that I was approached about becoming a coach. I was delighted at the thought of being a part of such a great team. I immediately said yes and two years later I’m now a qualified personal trainer and my life has taken a completely different route to what I had initially thought.
My confidence is now sky high, all thanks to Ashford Fitclub. I’m easy to spot at the club, I’m the one running about, jumping off the walls.
I now devote my life to fitness, I train daily, I teach others, I train clients, I coach at club and I couldn’t be happier. If you would have asked me 3 years ago if I would stand up and coach 100 people or conduct intense, 1 on 1 training sessions I would have laughed and run away.
